Seal YOUR roof
before the storm
picks it apart.
method to reduce the threat of wind and
rain damage to your asphalt shingle roof
It doesn’t just sit on your shingles,
It becomes part of them.
An asphalt shingle is built from three layers: a reinforcing base mat, an asphalt mixture that waterproofs it and mineral granules that shield it from UV and impact.
UV exposure speeds up granule loss and granule loss speeds up UV exposure
DuraRoof is a water-based polymeric film forming product combined with an in-situ method of applying it to asphalt shingles to seal and prevent degradation and destruction due to UV exposure, algae growth, excessive wind, rain and naturally occurring disasters such as hurricanes and hail. DuraRoof is a blend of acrylic polymers that is modified to promote adsorption into and wicking under asphalt shingles and along open edges to prevent water infiltration and wind uplift.

What actually breaks a roof down —
and what DuraRoof does about it.
Failure Mode 01
UV Breakdown
Sunlight and weather breaks the bonds holding granules to the shingle. Every granule that falls off exposes more raw asphalt to the sun. DuraRoof eliminates that cycle at the source.
Failure Mode 02
Water Infiltration
Water carries asphalt fractions from the shingle and freeze-thaw cycles produce small cracks where water settles. A DuraRoof sealed shingle fills these cracks to shed water before it can reach the asphalt membrane underneath.
Failure Mode 03
Wind Uplift
Loose tab edges are where storms get a grip and start peeling a roof apart. DuraRoof helps seal the gaps between and around shingles making your roof a monolithic surface so wind can flow over the roof instead of under it.
Some of the storms we’ve been through
Wind tunnel testing is one thing but here’s how DuraRoof treated roofs performed when the named storms actually arrived.
| Season | Storm | What Hit Florida | Reported Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2004 | Hurricane Charley → Frances → Ivan → Jeanne | Four major hurricanes struck Florida in 2004 | No Damage |
| 2005 | Hurricane Katrina & Wilma | Category 3 landfalls, widespread wind damage | No Damage |
| 2017 | Hurricane Irma | Statewide wind and granule-stripping damage | No Damage |

The only patented process for shingle protection
DuraRoof is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as the only patented product and application process for sealing asphalt shingles and other porous roofing materials. It was sold for 25+ years under the name RoofGuard before a trademark issue forced us to rename it DuraRoof — same formula, same company, same patent.
What people say after the storm passes.
“My roof did not leak, but Irma stripped the granules and the edges were starting to curl. I didn’t have $13,000 for a new roof — DuraRoof made my shingles adhere to each other again. I’m confident it bought me another five to seven years.”
“I’ve had DuraRoof applied three times over twelve years. My roof is twenty years old and still looks great. After a rainstorm, the difference next to my neighbors’ roofs is obvious.”
“We had DuraRoof applied to our 21-year-old roof in April 2017. After Hurricane Irma, most of our neighbors paid thousands in repairs. Ours still looks great — I recommend it to everyone.”
